What is Project Mover?
Project Mover is a NYSERDA grant-funded, regional initiative that first launched in the Village of Ossining in August 2024 to bring clean, affordable micro-mobility options to Westchester County. In 2025, a total of 300 electric bikes will roll out across six municipalities beginning in the Villages of Ossining, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow, and followed by Croton on Hudson, Dobbs Ferry and the Town of Ossining, making it easier than ever to access safe, sustainable transportation options.
How to Safely Ride Project MOVER Bikeshare
***Riding on the Riverwalk in Tarrytown is not permitted.
Follow the Rules of the Road - Yield to pedestrians and obey traffic laws. Ride in the same direction as vehicles and do not ride on the sidewalk.
Plan a sensible route - Follow the safest low-speed roads.
Do a pre-ride check - Adjust the seat height. Check the breaks and tire pressure. Check the lights at nighttime.
Be alert and predictable - Do not ride with headphones. Be ready to break when needed and keep a safe distance to react to anything unexpected.
Wear a helmet - Buckle the helmet strap under your chin and make sure it fits snugly.
