Film and photo shoot information for Tarrytown residents and businesses:
If you would like film companies to consider your home or business as a potential film location, you may complete this online survey and upload photos of your location. When a production company films in a private home, property, or business, the production company enters into a contract with the property owner. The Village will not get involved with the film company and the property owner beyond providing the contact information included in this voluntary form. The Village of Tarrytown does not involve itself in negotiations between a private property owner and a production company; however, every film that shoots in the Village must have a Village permit to do so. If you would like to confirm that a film company has a permit to film in the Village, please contact Village Clerk Kristine Gilligan via email.
Helpful Guidelines once you have an opportunity to move forward:
- Due diligence: Before you enter a contract with a production company, consider the size of the production and the logistics involved. Keep in mind that the number of individuals (both cast and crew), the number and types of vehicles that may be parked on your property, the number of preparation, shoot, and wrap days, and the number of shoot hours during each day vary greatly from production to production.
- Agree on a fee: This is an agreement between resident/owner /business and the production company conducting the filming or photo shoot.
- Inspect your home or business: Conduct a thorough inspection of your property with representatives from the production company before the filming/photo shoot begins and after the production has wrapped.
Verify that the film/photo production crew has a Village of Tarrytown film permit: If your property has been selected for a film or photography shoot and you'd like to verify that the production company is permitted, please send your inquiry to Krissy Gilligan, by email or call 914-631-1652.
