Online Permit Portal
Welcome to the Village of Tarrytown Online Permit Portal
COMING SOON!
In April 2026, the Village will be launching a new online permit portal called SmartGov to facilitate the processing of permits online. Stay tuned for more information when the system launches later this month.
The Village of Tarrytown utilizes SmartGov (a browser-based permitting software), to accept, review, issue, and finalize all permits and approvals.
If you need to submit a permit application, you will need to sign up for an online account.
ACCESS ONLINE PORTAL AND SIGN UP HERE
For those who do not have access to a computer, and/or the software needed to use our Portal, we have Permit Help Desk workstations located in various departments at Village Hall (One Depot Plaza) with access to all of the necessary software to assist you in submitting permit(s).
Through the Online Permit Portal you can do the following:
- Apply for permits and licenses through the Building Department, Public Works Department, Police Department, Clerk’s Office and Treasurer’s Office
- Submit FOIL Requests
- Submit Plans and other documents required for your application
- Pay fees online
- Track the status of your application
- Correspond with staff and read staff comments regarding your application
- Request an inspection
- Submit questions or issues of concern
- Find parcel information
Signing up for an account is easy:
- Click on the Online Permit Portal Link
- Enter your email address. This will be the address that receives correspondence regarding permits, so it needs to be valid.
- Pick a password.
- If you already have a permit application in the online system through the Building Department, enter the Access Code associated with your permit.
- Enter your contact information and create your account.
- The system will send you a verification email. Click on the ink to verify. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder.
You can find more detailed instructions below for how to sign up for an Online Permit Portal account, submit an application and request an inspection. If you have additional questions, please contact the Administrator’s office at (914) 631-1785.
