Special Programs (Take a Peek!)

There are numerous unique/niche programs the Village offers that we believe may be of interest to you as a new homeowner, see below for a brief (but not all-inclusive) list

Bulk Metal / Bulk Trash - The Village of Tarrytown Department of Public Works collects bulk debris from residents by appointment only! 

Car Seat Program - An appointment based program to have a certified police officer install a child safety seat in your vehicle

Con Edison Hazard Tree Program - Con Edison, the local private electric utility has a program to inspect and prune / remove hazardous trees near its power lines. 

Dark House Program - If you are going to be away from your home for an extended period of time (generally a week or more) you can alert our Tarrytown PD.

Fall Leaf Program - During the period from October 15 through December 15, leaves may be placed at the edge of a property (not in the street), next to the curb for collection by the Village of Tarrytown Department of Public Works. 

Food Scrap Collection Program - We have a drop-off program for food scrap recycling. You may pick up a kit (or purchase your own)

TaSH Farmers Market - There is a farmers market in the Village of Tarrytown every Saturday starting at 8:30 am. It's primary location is Patriots Park, but it can vary during the winter months (check their website).

Prescription Medicine Return - Tarrytown Police Department allows residents to deposit their unwanted or expired prescription medications in the lobby of the Tarrytown Police Department.

Secure Cam Program - The program encourages both private and commercial surveillance camera owners to register their security cameras with the Tarrytown Police Department to assist with crime prevention.

Senior Van (Rides) - The Village has a van available to senior citizens for rides to doctor appointments, the grocery store, K-Mart, and more. Call 914-631-8347 to learn more or schedule a ride.

Westchester Power / Community Choice Aggregation - Tarrytown participates in a community-based bulk energy purchasing program intended to control costs and increase the use of renewable energy in Westchester County. You are automatically opted in, but can opt out at any time.
