RiverWalk Connection Project

RiverWalk Connection

The Village is working in collaboration with Scenic Hudson, Westchester County, and the State of New York on a project to connect the sections of RiverWalk that extend north from Losee Field and south from the end of Van Wart Avenue. This section is approximately .9 miles in length and would cross under the Mario Cuomo (formerly Tappan Zee) Bridge. The project is a multi-million dollar multi-year effort that began with funds granted the Village when the New NY Bridge was under construction.

In 2023, the conceptual design underwent a number of changes following consultation with numerous stakeholders including Metro North, and property owners along the proposed trailway. The simplified proposal now includes pedestrian improvements along Green Street to better connect the pathway to the Metro North Train Station, and through to Sleepy Hollow. Scenic Hudson, the lead agent for the project, is getting ready to launch a comprehensive website to keep all apprised on updates and changes. This year, there will be renewed attention and requests for community feedback on this important project as it enters the environmental review phase.

The RFP for design services was released on February 9, 2024. Please stay tuned with updates on this exciting project in the near future.

We will gather materials related to the project on this page throughout the process. Please get in touch with the Administrator's office with any questions: administrator@tarrytownny.gov
