Enforcement of Commercial Parking

Please be advised as of July 1, 2026, the Village will be enforcing the limitations of the parking of commercial vehicles on any village street to one hour during the times of 9:00pm - 8:00am as follows: 

Village Code Section 291-23(B) limits the parking of commercial vehicles on any Village street to one hour during the night (between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.).  Additional restrictions apply in residential districts, as Section 291-24 prohibits street parking of commercial vehicles AT ALL TIMES, unless the commercial vehicle is engaged in a delivery. Commercial parking permits do not supersede these regulations. 

The Board of Trustees has been reviewing the Village’s Vehicle and Traffic law and particularly, the regulations regarding commercial vehicle parking and permits. At its recent work session, the Village Board discussed the possibility of amending the Village Code to eliminate the permitted nighttime one-hour parking for commercial vehicles on non-residential Village streets.  This aligns the Village’s regulations with neighboring municipalities’ regulations prohibiting overnight commercial vehicle parking.  

Businesses and residents should be aware of the current law, which prohibits street parking of commercial vehicles at ALL TIMES in residential areas and restricts parking in all other areas to no more than one hour during the night.
