Lagana Park Improvements

Lagana Current conditions

The Village of Tarrytown is working on a project to renovate and upgrade Lagana Park, located at 171 Sheldon Avenue. The current project scope includes restoring and re-grading the ball fields, re-doing the basketball court, renovating the tennis courts to include pickleball courts, making playground improvements, and improving the picnic pavilion. The Village was awarded a $500,000 grant for the upgrades by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. After a competitive bidding process, PS & S Design consultants were awarded the contract for design.

On Monday, March 31, 2025 the Village hosted a public meeting at the neighboring Consolidated Engine Fire House to give the community the opportunity to offer input directly to the design team. Erin Lybeck, Dan Maher, and William Schneider presented their initial conceptual ideas. The Village received feedback from attendees and used that information along with the survey responses that had been received prior to the grant application to take the project closer to 60% design.

On Monday, October 6, the designers presented the current designs at the Board of Trustees meeting in Village Hall. We will be taking comments on the project through Friday, October 17. Please send comments to the Village Administrator at [email protected].

Lagana Park Add or Delete Items

Due to budget constraints, certain elements of the design, shaded above, will be included as add/delete items in the bid specifications, which means that if the costs come back favorably, we will include them in the project, but if the bid costs are too high, these elements will be simplified or removed from the project.
