Holiday Fun this weekend:

On Saturday, December 4, 2021, the Village of Tarrytown will have some festive opportunities for residents and visitors to Tarrytown to enjoy the weekend.

  • 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.- The 6th Annual Tarrytown TaSH Holiday Market will take place at Patriot’s Park on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • 4:30 p.m. start - The Annual Tarrytown Holiday Tree Lighting will take place at Patriot’s Park, with musical selections starting at 4:30 p.m., and the Tree Lighting at 5 p.m.
  • 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. - The Village of Tarrytown and the Sleepy Hollow Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring the First Annual Winter Stroll in the Tarrytown Downtown from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Shops and restaurants along Broadway/Route 9 and Main Street will stay open late, and the Village will close Main Street to allow shoppers and diners to enjoy the Downtown. Other features will include holiday treats, carolers, an ugly sweater contest, live entertainment and literary readings, and other special events hosted by the Tarrytown Historical Society and local shopkeepers. Main Street will close to traffic from Broadway to No./So. Washington St., and Dining Parklets for dining will be set up west of Washington Street for the restaurants there – Pik Nik, Main Street Pizza, Little B’s and La Perla Poblanita Taqueria.

Fall Leaf Collection is wrapping up!

At this time, the Village is making our final big push to collect leaves before the snow falls and plowing and shoveling becomes necessary. Our last scheduled date for curbside leaf collection is Friday, December 10, 2021, so please get your leaves to the curb by Sunday night, the end of this weekend.  For more information check the Village’s leaf collection schedule:  https://www.tarrytownny.gov/home/news/2021-fall-leaf-collection-schedule

Con Edison Update

Work on gas mains and gas service lines continues around the Village, on the following daily schedule:

  • Hamilton Ave. – work on the street is done for now; the street will be repaved in mid- to late-January, 2022, weather permitting.
  • Croton and Le Grande – work will proceed along this street continuing on Monday, December 6, 2021, for a few weeks. The street will be repaved in mid- to late-January, 2022, weather permitting.
  • Hillside – Paving (rough, binder course only) will take place starting Wednesday, and should finish by Friday Dec. 10 or Monday Dec. 13.  We are leaving the street rough-paved because of the plan to perform a water main improvement project during the 2022 summer construction season.
  • Paving will also take place along River, Lake, Wilson Park and Cobb, and should be done by Friday Dec. 10 or Monday Dec. 13.
  • Broadway – there will be night work next week, Monday through Thursday, with work continuing all day on Thursday.
  • Cortlandt and Main Street – the gas repair work should be completed and road restoration should begin next week.
  • Washington and Dixon – work is planned to start west of Broadway in the next 2 to 4 weeks, weather permitting.
  • We will keep everyone informed with these regular updates.
