Officer for the day: PO Ethan
Please join us in welcoming our newest Tarrytown Police Department Auxiliary Police Officer Ethan. Officer Ethan is a 5 year old Tarrytown resident that is suffering from glioblastoma. He wanted to be a police officer so we jumped in and made it happen.
Today Officer Ethan was picked up at his home and brought to Village Hall where he sworn in by Mayor Brown and received his official Tarrytown PD Auxiliary badge. Chief Barbelet presented Ethan with a shadowbox made by our very own Lt. Budnar. As all recruits do, it was off to the Westchester County Police Academy. At the Academy Officer Ethan was presented with a board of all of the Westchester County Police division patches and a photo of the current recruit class. After meeting the bomb detection dogs and robot it was back to HQ for some lunch. While at police headquarters Sgt. Jones got caught up on the phones so Ethan had to step in and take in a 911 call. That 911 call lead to Officer Ethan having to place PO Romano under arrest. After giving PO Romano his appearance ticket and releasing him it was time to hit the streets in his new Official Tarrytown PD Hot Wheels Cruiser.
