2024 Youth Leadership Academy - Open to Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown Students

Youth Leadership Police Academy

The Sleepy Hollow Police Department, in conjunction with the Tarrytown Police Department and the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Youth Leadership Academy this summer for students ages 10 to 13 years old! There will be NO COST for this camp. This camp will only be for residents of Sleepy Hollow & Tarrytown.

 The camp will be one week in length and we will host two sessions. The sessions will be from 9am – 3pm Monday through Friday. The camp will cover various activities including demonstrations, physical fitness, character and safety lessons, guest lectures, crime scene investigation, court procedures and tour, team building exercises, a career day, and much more.

The academy will conclude with a graduation ceremony at the end of each week for all campers/cadets. Village officials from both villages will be present to give the cadets their certificates of completion. Applications will be available starting March 4th and must be completed and emailed to Officer Steven Bencosme (sbencosme@sleepyhollowny.org) no later than June 14th.

Any contribution, big or small, will be highly appreciated and acknowledged. We will be accepting donations via checks and cash. Checks/cash can be made out to: ‘The Sleepy Hollow Police Department’. Checks/cash can be dropped off at the Sleepy Hollow Police Department: 28 Beekman Avenue, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591, Monday -Sunday 8am to 11PM. Please place the checks or cash in an envelope with attention to: “SRO. Bencosme – Youth Leadership Police Academy donation”.
