Tarrytown Announces Body Cameras in Use Starting Week of January 11, 2021

In September of 2020, the Village Board of Trustees approved of the purchase of Axon 3 Body Cameras for use in the Village Police Department. This was one of the many steps undertaken by the Village in response to the Governor’s Executive Order concerning Police Reform & Reinvention.

The Village of Tarrytown is announcing that Body Cameras will be in use as soon as Monday January 11, 2021. A small group of officers will be field testing the cameras prior to roll out to the entire department. Through this effort, Tarrytown joins a shortlist of communities in Westchester with active Body Camera programs.
