The Recreation Rundown is issued every other Friday to all subscribers to the Tarrytown Link Newsletter. The Rundown is designed to keep residents informed about Recreational news, programming, activities, and events happening in the community. We're thrilled to announce that the Recreation Department recently invested in a pair of brand new, regulation sized backboards and rims at the basketball court in Pierson Park. Installation was completed last week, and they're open for play! With these baskets and that view, there's no better place for a pickup game. Be sure to come on down to check them out and shoot some hoops.

Welcome to Farmer’s Kitchen. Fun, fresh produce and cooking techniques are on the menu. Today’s specials are smiles and deliciousness. Our kitchen is conveniently located in the TASH Farmer’s Market. We are open on select Saturday’s during the fall season, starting October 7^th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., pre-registration is required.

At Farmer’s Kitchen, children ages 8-13, will learn how to cook using fresh produce from the Farmer’s market! Class will "shop" at the market, then cook a pre-selected recipe and end by sampling tasty creations. Participants will get to take recipe home. Farmer's Kitchen makes healthy foods scrumptious! Sample recipes are vegetable pancakes with kale pesto, baked apple doughnuts & spiced cider and Tuscan Kale & squash soup and more.

Trunk or Treat & Movie Night

Trunk or Treat 4:30-6:30 PM Movie begins at dark

Start your Halloween celebration early this year by joining us at Pierson Park on Friday, October 20th. Break out the kids' costumes and have them bring their candy bags for Trunk or Treat, then stick around to munch on your candy while you watch a spooky Halloween movie outdoors on the big screen! There's one week left to vote on which movie you'd like to see. Click on the link below to cast your spell (and your vote.)

Interested in decorating your trunk and distributing candy to our Trunk or Treaters? We couldn't hold this event without the generosity of volunteers -- that could be you! If you'd like to participate, please register at the link below. The best decorated vehicle will receive a prize.

The bad news is our celebration last week was postponed due to bad weather. The good news is that it's been rescheduled! The final Open Streets Tarrytown event of the season will now take place tomorrow- Saturday, September 23rd. Stroll down Main Street between 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM to catch the live music & dance performances, check out specials from our Main Street shops, then stick around to grab dinner under the stars. There's no registration necessary. We hope to see you there!
