FASNY Parade coming to Broadway and Main Street on Saturday, Aug. 13, 3 to 5pm

The Village of Tarrytown is honored to host the 150th Annual Firefighters Association of the State of New York Convention, bringing 45 fire departments from across the state to our Village for four days of activities. The festivities will culminate in a dress parade to be held on Saturday, August 13 from 3 to 5pm. Come down to Main Street and Broadway to celebrate our local fire department and their statewide compatriots. The parade route will run from 303 South Broadway to Main Street, and down to the waterfront at Losee Field.

Fire Departments  from Westchester, the Hudson Valley and as far as Niagara County and Long Island will join FASNY leadership to recognize the esteemed history of the Association and the incredible legacy of the entire volunteer fire service.  

Vintage fire trucks will be showcased and the parade will honor honor FASNY Past President Gunnar Neilson, a Past Chief of the Ossining Fire Department, as the Grand Marshal. 

Please be aware that the celebration will mean Broadway/Rt.9 and Main Street will be closed from 2pm to 6pm on August 13. Please make alternative transportation arrangements to avoid Broadway/Rt. 9 that afternoon. The H-Bridge will also be closed to vehicular traffic from 3 to 5pm.

Visitors from outside the immediate vicinity should consider taking Metro North and walking the short distance to Main Street.

The following parking and traffic restrictions will be in effect:

  • No Parking on Broadway and Main Street: 12pm to 6pm.(Vehicles will be towed if parked in the No Parking zone during this time frame)
  • No parking on the south side of Main Street between Windle Park and South Washington Street from 10am to 6pm.
  • No vehicular traffic on Broadway/Rt. 9 and Main Street from 2pm to 6pm.
  • No vehicular traffic on the H-Bridge from 3pm to 5pm.
