Village of Tarrytown Block Party Rules
1. Requests should be submitted at least ten (10) days prior to the event.
2. Event start and end times must be adhered to.
3. A traffic lane must be maintained for local traffic and emergency vehicles.
4. Open containers of alcohol must be kept on private property and not carried around in the street.
5. All applicable Local, State and Federal Laws must be complied with.
6. Illegal fireworks and other related activities are prohibited.
7. Rain dates should be included in the request if there are any.
8. Barricades: The Village will place barricades on the street the evening prior to the event or Friday afternoon for weekend events. Residents should block off the street between the requested hours on the day of the event and move the barricades after the event. The Village will pick up the barriers the following day or Monday for weekend events.
9. Changes, complications or emergencies must be brought immediately to the attention of the Village, at the Village Administrator’s Office during normal office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday) or by e-mail which is responded to within 48 hours, and to the Village of Tarrytown Police Desk at 631-5546 after hours and on weekends and holidays.
10. Any serious violations or complaints about the event could result in the termination of the event without appeal, and could result in the block forfeiting the right to have such an event the following year, at the discretion of the Village.
11. All block parties must end no later than eleven o’clock at night (11 p.m.)
12. Appeals to the denial of a permit may be made in writing to the Board of Trustees, with the reasons for the appeal outlined in detail.
